Draft Final Trails Map

Please take a look at the Draft Final Trails map.  This map has been compiled from the comments from the community, the Deparrtment of Fish and Game, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, and from review of the applicable regulations.  Please take a look and post your comments.   Remember to attend our upcoming workshop this Wednesday on September 29th at 6:30 pm.  See you there.

Successful Community Workhop

The community workshop for trails at Upper Filiorum on September 8th was well attended and had excellent participation from the community.  If you attended a big 'Thank-you' for coming out in the middle of the week to help us have a full discussion on trails for Upper Filiorum.  There were 37 people in attendance.  

Some highlights from the workshop
  • Multi-use trails are preferred
  • Loop trail in Eucalyptus grove
  • Keep main trails

Please take a look at some photos from the event and come join us for the next community meeting on September 29th at 6:30 pm. at Fred Hesse Park Community Park in the Community Room.   The public comments will be taken into acount along with trail considerations that were developed through review of all the governing documents related to the property.

Help Provide Input on the Trails at Upper Filiorum

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, with support from the State Coastal Conservancy and contributions from over 700 supporters in the community, added the 191-acre Upper Filiorum property to the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve on December 31, 2009. The acquisition resulted in over 900 contiguous acres of protected open space and a wildlife corridor linking the Three Sisters and the Portuguese Bend Reserves. The City Council adopted Preserve Trails Plan will need to be amended to include the Upper Filiorum trail routes and uses, and your input on the trail planning is requested.
Please join us at the upcoming workshops to provide your input on trail planning for the new portion of the Preserve.
